Using Spaze you can measure both General Metrics, and Custom Metrics based on the setup of your registration and check-in forms. Metrics can be seen per day, per month, and any chosen period (date picker). Activity data is downloadable in CSV format. Below we include examples for General and Custom Metrics.

General Metrics:

• Total unique contacts, new/returning.
• People reached, adults/children.
• Number of visits, number of visits for each activity/good/service.
• Total output of goods/services/activities, measured in units, kilograms or time.

Custom Metrics, measured in totals and percentages:

• Single select examples (selecting 1 option from a list): tracking gender, country of origin, a volunteer who delivered the service, etc.
• Multiple select examples (selecting 1+ options from a list): tracking documentation, referral interests, qualifications, etc.
• Open text field examples (open box for taking notes): tracking case management notes, latest status updates, feedback on services, etc.
• Checkbox examples (ticked for yes/no answers): tracking if someone was referred, has received a service before, has been blacklisted, etc.

Frontline projects have a set of common characteristics that make it extremely challenging for them to adopt existing digital tools (i.e: low time availability, variable IT savviness, high staff rotation) given that these offer too many features that go beyond their needs and result in an overwhelming complexity.

Nevertheless, frontline projects strive to survive and remain competitive by employing time-consuming manual processes to collect and aggregate impact metrics so they can report to their sponsors and the local authorities, organise their service delivery and plan ahead by forecasting logistics and supply needs.
